I am an associate professor at the Engineering Department of Haute Ecole Arc, in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
I hold diplomas of Doctor in Computer Science from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (France, 1999), Master in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre, Brazil, 1994) and Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil, 1988).
After graduating, I worked two years for the computer industry in Brazil. Following that, I worked for and became an associate professor at the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil, 1991-2007). I later worked as a researcher at INRIA (France, 2007-8), as an assistant professor at the University of Lisbon (Portugal, 2008-12), and a researcher in the University of Neuchâtel (2012-2024). While in the University of Neuchâtel, I helped creating a company providing sensor-based services for the agricultural sector.
